Red Umbrella Athens

Red Umbrella Αthens was founded on December 2015 with the aim of raising awareness on socially accepting sex workers in Greece as well as supporting their equal political and human rights with no discriminations.

Red Umbrella Αthens focuses on improving the current (Ν. 2734/1999) law on a political level and reducing the obstacles in relation to legalising the profession of sex. The organisation also focuses on the protection of all human rights regardless sex, age, sexual orientation, religion or background who become victims of illegal trafficking into any shape or form of exploitation.

Red Umbrella Αthens participates in conferences for the education of the scientific community as well as the community in general.

The organisation is a member of the national network “International Committee on the Rights of Sex Workers in Europe”, “The Sex Workers’ Rights Advocacy Network (SWAN)” and of TAMPEP-The European Network for the Promotion of Rights and Health among Migrant Sex Workers.
